Skepta’s ‘MAINS’ Hits Selfridges

Fresh off the back of an internationally successful album in ‘Konnichiwa’ and an international tour, Skepta is back to grab our attention once more, this time with his clothing brand ‘MAINS’.

Having dabbled in a clothing line before with ‘Zombie Attack‘ and also creating a very solid merchandise collection, this latest line seems to be Skepta’s attempt at entering the designer realm. Currently exclusively available via Selfridges, the new collection sees refined versions of garments that Skepta not only talks about regularly in his music, but that he himself wears.

Now is the time for grime, as Mercury Prize 2016 winner and Creative Director Skepta unleashes the debut collection for his unisex line Mains. Playing with the stylistic codes of sportswear, uniforms and technical gear, the labels focus remains on easy-care and travel-friendly essentials. – Selfridges

With parts of the collection drawing inspirational elements from both sportswear and military uniforms, as a minimalist, stripped-back aesthetic is carried throughout the products. There’s no showy logos or labels, just simple and clean designs.

Skepta’s ‘MAINS’ collection in Selfridges is available from today here.
