April Playlist

April 18

The past month has provided nothing but absolute gems, not only from well-known established artists, but also a lot of upcoming artists. London, as ever, has been making a lot of noise, with the likes of Octavian, Daniel OG and Che Lingo all switching their gears up and releasing incredible music, and delivering incredible live events.

But it’s not the only place making noise.

Artists from my hometown of Northampton are refusing to let the fact that they come from outside of a city define them. Slowthai & Izzie Gibbs are making big moves in the industry to solidify their status as noteworthy lyricists and trendsetters. Izzie Gibbs, as ever, using his rapid delivery and punchy flow to deliver on ‘Flaca’, whilst Slowthai uses his high energy and incredibly unique style and content to capture on ‘North Nights’.

It’s not just solo artists though, collectives are making some serious noise from their respective corners. House of Pharaohs recently released their ‘Fix EP’, whilst 808INK and WSTRN continue with a barrage of music which is guaranteed to provide the good vibes for the Spring & Summer!

With all the incredible projects and events taking place so far this year, it seems like we’re in for an incredibly exciting year in UK music. Make sure you keep your ears to the ground, because you’re not going to want to miss anything that’s coming our way!

So, what did you think? Are you feeling this month’s playlist, or did I miss off some tracks that you thought were deserving? Let me know in the comments, or get at me on Twitter: @AlexPotton_
