May ’18 Playlist

may 18

After what feels like forever, it’s finally that time of the year where music just seems to sound even better. You can take the speaker outside to the park, chill with friends and just enjoy good music. With that in mind, this month I’ve curated a playlist consisting not just of some of my favourite releases from the last month, but also some of my favourite sounds in general that sums up this shift in weather.

Some of the big features for me in this month’s playlist are Risky with his latest track ‘Mood’, which is guaranteed to be a huge track this Summer; Esther Durin with her incredibly refreshing R&B sound, with both ‘Deeper’ ‘Friendzone’ making an appearance; and one of my favourite artists of the last year Kadiata, with his track ‘Art Hoes’.

It seems to be an absolutely huge year for unsigned music so far, and it looks like it’s only going to get better. Quite a few of the artists featured this month I discovered by attending various different events, and I cannot recommend getting yourself out and into venues just to discover new, raw talent. There’s so many things going on, not just in London, but smaller towns, all aimed at shining the light on incredible music acts.

But for now, get outside, soak up that sun that we’ve all been waiting for, and turn up the volume on this playlist!

So, what did you think? Are you feeling this month’s playlist, or did I miss off some tracks that you thought were deserving? Let me know in the comments, or get at me on Twitter: @AlexPotton_
