October was another great month for music, especially in the UK, as Dave & Fredo cleared the path and took their latest track ‘Funky Friday’ straight to the number 1 spot, marking a huge milestone for UK rap.
One of my favourite artists, Ray BLK, released her latest project ‘Empress’, which contained the incredible ‘Run Run’.
808INK released an incredible project full of some incredible production ‘WIAYK2’, featuring some hard-hitting joints, ‘Trophies’ one of my favourites from the tracklist.
We finally got the ‘Content With Content’ mixtape from Big Zuu, which has been one of my most anticipated projects of the year. Zuu has worked hard to define his own personal sound, packing out the project with fantastic production, strong melodies, and his trademark true-to-Grime sound.
A track I’ve been struggling to take off repeat is French Montana & Drake’s ‘No Stylist’. In all honesty, it felt to me like French Montana was heavily influenced by Travis Scott’s ‘Astroworld’ album on this track, but I’m not mad at it at all. Drake hit the flow on his verse way too smooth to even try and hate.
Another of my favourite artists, Blay Vision, also released in October with ‘Free’. His signature futuristic Grime sounds always send me straight to my ultimate zone, and his latest project has been in heavy rotation since it released last week.
